MOSCOW, Sep 18 (PRIME) -- Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will restart production of Pajero Sport cars at its Russian plant in the city of Kaluga in November, the company said in a statement on Monday.
In January 2018, the company will create 440 new jobs and launch two-shift operation at the plant in Kaluga, it said.
Naoya Nakamura, CEO of official distributor in Russia MMC Rus, said as quoted by the company: “MMC Rus is inspired by the restoration of the Russian car market, and we are ambitious in our plans for the future. The company has significantly improved its sales figures starting from January 2017. By restoring organization of local production of Pajero Sport we are not only investing in our positions but in the Russian market in general.”
The company has been importing current generation Pajero Sport cars to Russia from Thailand for the past two years due to a crisis in Russia.
